Headquartered in Weißenfels, Germany, and based at Erfurt Airport, we are a team of aviation industry experts driven by a passion for flight and a commitment to reliability and precision. Founded in 2010, our company began as a humble venture to help small aircraft owners and mechanics find the exact parts they needed – quickly, correctly, and with a friendly smile. Over the years, that small venture has evolved steadily into a trusted partner for a wide range of aviation clients, and we have our eyes set on new horizons ahead.

START

Our Beginnings in General Aviation (2010)

In 2010, Ely-C.A.R. took off from a modest hangar at Erfurt Airport near Weißenfels, fueled by the insight that owners of small general aviation aircraft often struggled to source reliable parts. Our founding team – a close-knit group of pilots and aviation enthusiasts – understood that even a tiny component can ground a Cessna or Piper airplane for days. We made it our mission to change that. In our early days, we focused on supporting beloved light aircraft brands such as Cessna (an icon among general aviation planes) and built up a specialty in finding components for these workhorse aircraft. We chose to start with Cessna parts because Cessna is renowned as a leader in the world of small aircraft (part of the “Big Three” of general aviation alongside Piper and Beechcraft). By focusing on these popular models, we quickly became familiar with of aviation logistics and earned a reputation for getting pilots back in the air faster.

As word spread, our reputation for reliability grew. Our customers appreciated that we treated every parts request, whether for a simple bolt or a critical engine component, with the same level of urgency and accuracy. Every takeoff and landing relies on the integrity of thousands of unseen parts, so we knew we had to deliver the right part, at the right time, every time. This involved double-checking specifications, ensuring quality certifications and going the extra mile to track down rare or hard-to-find items. We embraced the values of precision and dependability from the outset, recognizing that in aviation, the safety of every aircraft relies on its components, making precision paramount. This meticulous approach helped us win the trust of flight schools, private pilots and maintenance shops across Germany. By the end of our first few years in business, our local parts finder had grown into a reliable sourcing network for small aircraft operators across the region.

Broadening Our Support

Encouraged by our initial success with Cessna parts, we set our sights on serving the wider general aviation community. By the mid-2010s, Ely-C.A.R. was sourcing components for many of the other popular light aircraft that grace the skies. We added Piper and Beechcraft models to our portfolio, extending our expertise to cover everything from Piper Cub propeller parts to Beechcraft Bonanza avionics. (It helped that Cessna, Piper, and Beechcraft are historically the “Big Three” of general aviation manufacturers, so we were already familiar with the needs of their aircraft owners.) We also kept up with newer aviation innovators – for example, supporting pilots of Cirrus aircraft, which has become one of the top modern light aircraft brands today known for its advanced design. Our ability to handle requests for diverse brands such as Cessna, Piper, Cirrus and Beechcraft meant that we could serve charter operators, flying clubs and private owners equally well.

During this period, our company grew in more than one way. Not only did we expand the range of parts we could source, we also grew in scope and professionalism. We relocated from a small hangar office to a larger facility at Erfurt Airport, which enabled us to increase our inventory and coordinate faster shipments. Our location at Erfurt Airport, close to Weißenfels, proved to be a great advantage: its central position in Germany and excellent transport links gave us numerous logistical advantages, enabling fast and efficient shipping in all directions. We built partnerships with OEMs and certified distributors, ensuring every part we deliver meets the highest safety and quality standards. Our team also grew, bringing in seasoned aviation engineers and supply chain specialists who shared the same dedication to quality and customer service. Throughout this period of growth, we maintained our friendly, down-to-earth culture – when you called us for a part, you spoke to people who genuinely love airplanes and care about your needs. We like to say that our business grew by keeping other people’s planes in the sky – each time we solved an urgent parts request or an AOG situation (Aircraft on Ground emergency), we forged a new long-term relationship.
Today and Beyond
From Propellers to Passenger Jets

An Embraer 190 regional jet – symbolizing our expansion into supporting larger regional and commercial aircraft. Fast forward to today, and Ely-C.A.R.’s capabilities have soared to new heights. We still honor our roots in general aviation, but we now support a broad spectrum of aircraft – from propeller-driven trainers and private turboprops, all the way up to regional airliners and small commercial jets. In recent years, our clients have included not only private pilots, but also regional airlines and charter companies who operate aircraft like commuter turboprops and 100-seat regional jets. This expansion into larger commercial and regional aircraft parts sourcing is an exciting new chapter for us. It’s driven by the same core idea that launched our company back in 2010: that every aircraft owner or operator, big or small, deserves a reliable partner to help keep their fleet flying safely.

Moving into the commercial aviation arena, we’ve applied the lessons learned from our general aviation days. Larger aircraft mean larger responsibilities – but our core principles remain unchanged. We continue to emphasize accuracy, making sure that even the most complex jet part we source matches the precise specifications required. We maintain reliability in our supply chain, because an airliner on the ground waiting for a part is losing time and money, and we take that seriously. And we still carry that genuine passion for aviation in everything we do – our team’s eyes light up just as much when handling a Boeing or Airbus component as they did with our first Cessna order.
